Ian Bigley

Ian Bigley (they/them) was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. Growing up in the Great Basin, he saw how extraction devastates landscapes and communities. He graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, where he developed an interest in issues of legal pluralism as it relates to mine permitting and Indigenous Peoples. He worked on mining issues in Nevada for four years at a state-based non-profit, The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, before moving to Earthworks. When he isn’t on the clock, you can find him out on the land appreciating its gifts, supporting development issues around the Reno-Sparks area, and going to the dog park with his puppy Cinder.
