Presentation at the 2005 People’s Oil and Gas Summit: Toxics in Our Communities
This presentation provides some data on the volumes of produced water generated by conventional oil and gas production in the U.S., and an overview of the consituents such as metals, salts, hydrocarbons and chemcials often found in produced water. Contamination from spills, leaks and improper disposal methods are discussed, and information from various studies are provided.
