Paulina Personius

Prior to joining Earthworks, Paulina worked with mining-affected communities in Mexico and helped coordinate a research group documenting the impacts of Canadian mining in Latin America. After finishing a Master’s in Latin American Studies, she joined the Earthworks mining team to help with digital organizing, the tailings program, and outreach to communities in Latin America.

She first became acutely aware of the injustices and violence that the mining industry perpetuates when the government of El Salvador, where her family is from, was sued for trying to ban metal mining.

Outside of Earthworks she can be found advocating for better, more equitable bike infrastructure in her community and gardening.
