Presentation at the 2005 People’s Oil and Gas Summit: Toxics in Our Communities
This short presentation provides an overview of the oil and gas drilling, completion and production processes that potentially contribute to contamination of aquifers. Potential pathways of concern include migration of drilling or hydraulic fracturing fluids through natural or drilling/completion-induced fractures, or migration up the wellbore due to improper cementing and casing procedures.
