Comments on the Montanore mine proposed underneath Montana’s Cabinet Mountains Wilderness Area
From the cover letter:
The SDEIS fails to demosntrate how the mine plan complies with the Forest Plan direction for threatened and endangered species, and how it will comply with the Endangered Species Act.
These impacts are incompatible with maintaining and protecting the Outstanding Resource Waters, fish and wildlife habitat, recreational uses and other significant values for which the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness Area was established.
The SDEIS also fails to provide sufficient information to evaluate the impacts, and efficacy of mitigation, on a long list of significant issues.
