Earthworks applauds passage of SB8, urges NM Gov. Lujan Grisham to sign bill into law

 Statement on the legislature’s passage of SB8, Local Government Air Quality Regulations, by Nathalie Eddy, Earthworks NM Field Advocate and certified thermographer:

“By removing just four words from two statutes, New Mexico’s government will be better able to protect New Mexicans.

“After Governor Lujan-Grisham signs these changes into law, as she should, we look to the New Mexico Environment Department to swiftly roll out safeguards that better protect our health and climate by  requiring all oil and gas operators to monitor and fix their polluting operations.”
