Michelle Medeiros is an environmental campaigner and activist with over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, program management, international campaigning, and policy work. Michelle grew up in a family that valued nature, whether camping, fishing, or being outside. This connection to nature is what gives Michelle her passion and drive for the work she does.
Michelle comes to Earthworks from Greenpeace International, where she worked in various roles in the US, East Asia, Africa, and Europe for fifteen years. After five years as a senior forest campaigner in the Congo basin and a year as an Energy/Climate advisor in China, Michelle turned her focus towards Organizational Development and resilience. Michelle’s resilience work includes facilitating the Work that Reconnects, ecological anxiety/grief workshops, and well-being.
Michelle got her Master’s in International Environmental Policy from American University. Before getting her Master’s, Michelle was a Solutions Director for Proxicom, an international e-business consulting firm. Michelle started her career with a BA and worked as a stage manager for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.
