Charlie joined Earthworks in 2022 as New Mexico Field Advocate. He engages with local communities impacted by gas development by documenting and reporting emissions from well sites. His work supports the strengthening of policies to reduce emissions that will protect the people of New Mexico and its Environment.
Charlie worked as an Ecologist at the Texas A&M University Forest Service prior to joining Earthworks. He studied forest ecosystems in West Texas and worked on many wildlife and forest restoration projects, including Montezuma Quail restoration and Operation Ponderosa in the Davis Mountains. He is a certified Forester, certified Wildland Firefighter and member of The Ecological Society of America.
Charlie is from New Mexico and spends much of his time outdoors hiking in the Chihuahuan Desert and Sacramento Mountains with his dogs. He loves listening to and playing music. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Conservation from Sul Ross State University.
