Charlie joined Earthworks in January of 2022 as our New Mexico Field Advocate. He engages with local communities impacted by oil and gas development. His work supports the strengthening of policies while helping to improve the enforcement of environmental rules and regulations in New Mexico.
Charlie worked with the Texas A&M University Forest Service prior to joining Earthworks. He worked on many wildlife and forest restoration projects, such as Montezuma Quail habitat restoration and Operation Ponderosa. He is a certified Ecologist, Forester, and Wildland Firefighter.
Charlie is from New Mexico and spends much of his time outdoors hiking in the Sacramento Mountains with his dog, Maka. He holds a Master’s in Natural Resource Conservation from Sul Ross State University.
