Statement by Jennifer Krill, Earthworks Executive Director:
“We cannot stop climate catastrophe without dismantling systems of oppression. We cannot have climate justice without racial justice.
“The violence this week in Buffalo and at a southern-California Church took the lives of eleven people, Black and Taiwanese-American lives that matter, and hurt many more. These acts of hatred are not isolated. Nor can the acts of individuals be separated from this country’s horrific legacy of prejudice or the fear-mongering and resentment in too much of our politics today. We will not progress unless we advance together. In solidarity and unity, we will, and must, dismantle white supremacy. ”
