“While the outcome is still uncertain as to which party controls Congress, the reality for the Biden administration following this year’s midterms remains the same. The President must use the full power of his office to prevent climate catastrophe in our lifetimes. The President has the authority to declare a climate emergency and must do it.
“On the other side of the world, all eyes are on the President at the climate conference in Egypt. Communities fighting expansion of fossil fuel export facilities and new, unnecessary mines are demanding these environmental injustices stop. The President has made a commitment to prioritize justice and this election changes nothing to limit his power to act on it.”
