Nellis Kennedy-Howard (she/her) is the founder and principal of Asdzą́ą́ Consulting. She is an Indigenous queer mama raising two Native children in conservative West Texas with her Indigenous and disabled wife. Together, their family is transforming the way a conservative community thinks about and approaches race, gender, ability, religion, and sexuality.

Nellis was born to an Indian boarding school survivor and is acutely aware of the harms of a colonizing and genocidal government to inflict intergenerational harm. As a result, Nellis is putting in the work to disrupt the cycles of oppression against Native peoples in hopes of bringing (and restoring) healing to a long line of ancestors and descendants as her responsibility for the seventh generation.

Nellis is a former Sierra Club Executive who served as Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Justice and an attorney with certificates in Federal Indian Law and Natural Resources Law.
