Karolo Aparicio is the Annual Giving Officer at the San Francisco Foundation.
Prior to joining the San Francisco Foundation, Karolo was the Director of Corporate Partnerships at GRID Alternatives and, before that, the Executive Director at EcoViva, a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to supporting community-led social justice movements in Central America.
His career in fund development has included leading fundraising efforts at the Sierra Club (SF Bay Chapter), the Global Fund for Women, International Rivers, Save the Bay, and Global Exchange.
He earned a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Vanderbilt University, and an MBA from San Francisco State University, where he also earned his BA. He is a Certified Fundraising Executive, a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) and is a frequent invited lecturer and workshop facilitator on fund development and non-profit management.
Karolo served on the program committee and board of directors of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and currently serves on the advisory board of the UC Berkeley Extension Program in Fundraising and Volunteer Management. Karolo joined Earthworks’ Board in 2021.
