Last month the Environmental Protection Agency proposed new rules to cut air pollution from oil and gas development — including fracking.
The proposal will limit toxic air pollution like benzene, and the climate air pollutant methane. It initially applies to modified and new facilities.
But once it's final, EPA is legally obligated to issue standards for existing facilities as well.
For the whole country, EPA is holding public hearings in just 3 cities. Denver, Colorado, Dallas, Texas and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Thanks to an overwhelming demonstration of interest from the public, EPA added a second hearing room in both Dallas and Pittsburgh!
We need you to show up at the hearing and tell the EPA that we support these new rules. And let us know what time you are speaking when you receive confirmation from EPA by sending us an email at info at earthworks.org.
